Barcode Maker

When I fist made Barcode Maker, I decided to arrive with it to the edge of the barcoding technology. I didn't thought on the money I can make, but in the popularity. I can make money through Adsense or other advertising programs, so why charge the user? They can also donate them self if they want, but I don't have a credit card for the moment :)

Starting from 0!
I started Barcode Maker exactly from a very rounded 0, I did never thought that Barcode Maker (the current version 2.6) will be in that power and features. But when I tried to use the version number one I found it really inutile. I started the slow building, each time I give it another line of code, sometimes I concentrate and spend long hours, sometimes I just code for fun, until we arrived to the version 2.6 that is really comparable to paid versions that costs much more than $100!

Deciding to arrive to the edge of technology
From the beginning I wanted to attend the edge of technology with Barcode Maker, now with the latest version, I feel that I'm not that so far from it. The version 3.0 will be exactly the edge of technology and here's why.

• The Barcode designer
  The barcode designer will allow you to move the different part of a Barcode label and also add. For example you can move the comment text to the top, or add a new blog of text...
  The Barcode designer will be very flexible and a label can support more than 1 barcode type
• The Barcode Tabling
  This will allow you to create advanced tables with the barcode label that you have designed. For example you don't want to print 100 identical barcode label, but 100 successive barcode labels, this will be possible with the advanced system of tabling
• The Barcode Manager
  Not only saving barcodes! Barcode Manager will manage your barcodes. You'll be able to manage different kind of labels of barcode within the application itself, it'll work exactly like an SQL Server
• The Barcode Command
  This is useful for developers, they can create barcode, print them, export them, without having to launch the application. For example if you are building an application that need the use of barcode, you can use the Barcode Command line, to create barcodes and print them, or export them to picture format for example.
• The Barcode API
  This is a gift for VB.net developers, the Barcode API will help them integrate Barcode Maker within their application without having to use the command line. Is their smarter than that?

What do you call that?
I call it the edge of technology, when the version 3.0 will be live, Barcode Maker will be the best barcoding application the planet ever seen (in this period sure). The magnificent that the product will still free, totally free of cost.

When the edge will be realized?
The edge is Barcode Maker version 3.0 and next. Those are versions that will change totally your opinion on Barcode Maker.
The version 3.0 will be accomplished in the future, I can't fix a date for that, but it'll be ready the next year, perhaps in July 2009 or August 2009. I'll start working on it from now and this will take more than 300 hour of coding but a wonderful experience.

What's next?
Is there another thing after the edge? Just an update versions? No, I'm already thinking on Intel-Barcode that will decode the barcode picture to get the barcode code!
Is their more advanced and high-tech than that? Let me know :)
